6.1 Major Findings
The mainly findings are as follow:
(1)According to questionnaire and interview results,the activity-based Englishlearning in English listening and speaking teaching can enhance students’attitudes inEnglish language learning,explicitly manifesting in four aspects:interest,motivation,self-confidence,and classroom participation.
Firstly,in terms of interest,students in the experimental class have demonstratedhigh enthusiasm for English learning.Through activity-based English learning,theirpassion for learning has been ignited.The classroom activities are cleverly designed,gradually progressing from simple to complex,providing better opportunities forstudent participation and allowing them to enjoy the joy of learning in a relaxed andpleasant atmosphere.This teaching model has effectively changed the past situationwhere students needed more interest in listening and speaking and were reluctant totalk,making them more engaged in English learning.S
econdly,in terms of motivation,activity-based English learning has significantly enhanced students’learning motivation.By actively participating inclassroom activities and completing various group tasks,students have exercised theirlistening and speaking abilities in practice and genuinely felt their progress.Thispractical learning approach has strengthened their determination to learn English andboosted their confidence in learning the language.
Furthermore,in terms of self-confidence,activity-based English learning haspositively fostered students’self-confidence.Students have been given opportunitiesto showcase their talents by participating in classroom activities.They activelyperform in group activities,gradually overcoming shyness and nervousness.Thisboost in self-confidence enables students to express their views more freely in theclassroom and lays a solid foundation for their future English learning.
