4.1.1 Semantic Logic in Sentences
Comprehension is one of the basic steps of translation,but comprehension hasdifferent aspects.In the maintenance manual,there are many descriptions of clutchconstruction and operation principle.Most of these sentences are long with complexaconstruction.The translator needs to judge the relationship between various sentences bycomprehending its operation principle expressed in the content,which should be brokendown into short sentences during translation,and take appropriate methods to translate thecontent completely and orderly.
5.Conclusion
5.1 Findings
Through this translation practice task,the author has new comprehension ontranslation.Translation plays an irreplaceable role in disseminating information andpromoting communication,but translation is not a single pure language activity.It is across language,interdisciplinary and cross-cultural communication process.It is also atechnical work,which needs the balance and cooperation of translation tools andtranslators’own abilities.Secondly,in writing the practice report,the author also acquiredwriting methods and experience.
Translation tools are important in translation efficiency and translation quality.Nomatter how serious the translator takes the translation work,it is impossible for him tomaster all the knowledge required for the translation work.At most,he can only masterone or several fields and only know a little basic knowledge about other fields(Zhu andHan,2006:196).Therefore,translators should prepare various translation tools beforetranslation.The translation tool with both professional knowledge and authority can ensurethe quality and work efficiency of translations.When conducting formal translation,translator should comprehensively search and use various tools,and try to find varioustools that are recognized and related to professional field as much as possible.In addition,in the complex network information,how to comprehensively collect the correctinformation is also very important.In the process of collecting materials,the translator hassummarized several websites for querying materials,and is proficient in the use of CNKI,WANFANG DATA and multiple online dictionaries,which is also of great benefit to thetranslation work in the future.
