support, depressive tendencies and work engagement among teachers of medical universities. Correlation and interaction between job stress, organizational support and depressive tendency, work engagement will be discussed. From the perspectives of organizational behavior and positive psychology, this study, taking the creation of an organization-supported environment and capacity improvement of teachers’ response to job stress as a starting point, will adopt the psychological capital intervention model to explore the protective effects and the intermediary role of the positive psychological capital in the relations between occupational stress and depressive tendencies and work engagement. A scientific theoretical basis will thus be provided for higher-education institution staff to enhance physical and mental health and improve job engagement and performance, so as to improve the organizational performance, which is of great realistic significance to promote the sustainable development of universities and build a harmonious society.
This study proposed the following six hypotheses based on the above theoretical support.
Hypothsis1: Occupational stress and organizational support are associated with depressive tendencies among medical university teachers;
Hypothsis2: Occupational stress and organizational support has a direct predictive effect on depression tendencies among medical university teachers;
Hypothesis3: Occupational stress and organizational support are associated with job engagement among medical university teachers;
Hypothesis4: Occupational stress has a direct predictive effect on job engagement among medical university teachers;
