sts, is known for its plays, poetry, novels and fairy tales. In the 20s of the last century, our country sprang up a large number of translated works of Oscar Wilde. Since Lu Xun Brothers(鲁迅,周作人)firstly introduced Oscar Wilde to Chinese in 1909, Mu Mutian (穆木天), Lin Huiyin (林徽因), Ba Jin (巴金) and Wang Lin (王林)had translated Oscar Wilde’s Fairy Tales. Currently there exists some academic research on the Oscar Wilde’s Fairy Tales translations. But most of the domestic academia study the Oscar Wilde’s Fairy Tales from translation skopos theory, the text frame or on the perspective of reception aesthetics. In addition the Oscar Wilde’s Fairy Tale belongs to fairy tale, few people use Berman’s theory to study the fairy tale through comparative methods.
Taking Berman's theory of translation as the theoretical framework, this thesis chooses the two Chinese versions of Oscar Wilde’s Fairy Tales– translation of Ba Jin (巴金) and translation of Wang Lin (王林), that are quite representative to comparatively analyze Berman’s translation theory in the process of translating and discusses how Berman's theory embody and influence in the translation and the process of translating. By analyzing Antoine Berman’s theory in the application of the two translations, the thesis try to explain how the theory reflect and influence the translating process and translation works. Through the comparative analysis of two Chinese translation versions of Oscar Wilde, basing on Antoine Berman’s theory, the thesis attempts to verify Antoine Berman’s 12 deformation tendency whether exists in the process of translating, and further confirm the test of "positive analysis of translation" to the "deformation" in translation. Specifically, based on Berman's translation theory and "the trial of the foreign", this thesis analyzes the different strategies of translating of the tendencies. This thesis not only provides supplement to the descriptive research on Chinese versions of Oscar Wilde’s Fairy Tales, but also illustrates Berman's translation theory practically in some degree, and improve the research about fairy tale at the same time.
