Abstract
In an inspiring way, Turkey's story and how it developed nationalism captures the essence of will in man. The rise of nationalism in the country has been attributed to several factors. This paper takes a look into the rise of pride in nation and self, the leaders who steered the way, and the story of some of the greats whose names remain instilled in the hearts of Turks. Turkey's construction lies on the foundation of its beliefs and policies, coupled with rich culture and tradition. It is no mean feat to come about such greatness, so this paper takes an in-depth analysis of what it took for Turkey to become what it is. In addition to this, the paper looks at the view of women and their role in Turkish society. We critique the values held regarding gender, the levels of discrimination, the untold truths of gender-based violence, and the impact it holds on the country's socio-economy. This piece gives vital details into understanding the role of media concerning gender bias and women's role in politics.
