5.1 Summary of the Major Findings
From the data analysis in Chapter four, there are four main findings in the present study: Firstly, for the overall situation of students’ English learning beliefs, English learning beliefs of demonstrative senior high school students in Zhongshan city are neither negative nor very positive.
On difficulty of language learning, most of the students consider that English is a language of medium difficulty. Besides, more than half of the students deem that they can ultimately speak English very well, but lots of students think that English writing and listening is difficult.
As for foreign language aptitude, a number of students hold a neutral view that everyone can learn to speak English. However, nearly half of the students are uncertain that English language aptitude can facilitate them in learning English. Besides, the results show that many students do not have too much prejudice in English learning.
Concerning nature of language learning, most students believe that it’s essential to know about the foreign culture and learn English in a country with the English-speaking context. Amounts of students agree that learning English is mostly a matter of learning a lot of new vocabulary words.

6.1 Summary of the Study
The present study aims at investigating demonstrative senior high school students’ English learning beliefs in Zhongshan city, finding out the differences of English learning beliefs in terms of gender as well as the discrepancies between high score group students and low score group students and discussing the factors which form English learning beliefs.
In this study, the data is collected through the responses of questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire is composed of two parts. In the first part, the author adapted Horwitz’s BALLI (EFL version) according to the characteristics of
