Chapter Five Results and Discussion
5.1 Results
This chapter aims to explore means that speakers use different speech acts to interdiscourse at the text-genre level; to analyze different mechanism of interdiscursivity used in speech acts at the level of professional practice; and to dig out functions and reasons for speakers to appropriate speech acts at three levels. As universally acknowledged, each product launch mainly includes company introduction, product introduction, effort that the company made to produce the product, as well as time that the product is released. These different discourses exercise different functions with different speech acts according to the speaker’s intention. Apparently, these different speeches are included in PLCs not only to introduce products to increase product sales, but also to enhance the company’s image and attract investors, which may use speech acts like introduce, recommend, compare, and other speech acts to reach the goals. And then, the thesis studies the specific interdiscursive mechanism used by speakers to interdiscourse different speech acts at the level of professional practice. Only with these, deeper analysis would be carried out.
