ic hotels is stimulated by the huge demand heavily. Some of the domestic brand expansion have speeded up to 200%-300%. Some new brands are coming out at the same time, and the economic hotels in Jinan develop well. The year of 2009 is called the expansion year of the economic hotel in Jinan by the insiders.
Nowadays, it is not only the opportunity but also the challenge for the economic hotel in Jinan. As for the opportunity, the economic hotel can use the influence of its brand and the mature market to get an advantage in the hotel market. In the term of the challenge, as the economic hotel in Jinan lacks of the enough influence, compared with the famous hotel, it is worried about that if it has enough strength to face the challenge or not. In this position, the economic hotel in Jinan needs to find a proper way to get better. Therefore, the study of economic hotel has important significance.
This paper has considered the present development of both domestic and abroad economic hotels. Based on the understanding of the intension of economic hotel, the paper makes systematic analyses and comprehensive evaluation for the current situation and condition of market of economic hotels in Jinan. The paper studies the development of economic hotels in Jinan, and has analyzed the advantages, weaknesses and the opportunities, challenges that they will face in the process of developing for them by SWOT. At last it provides some suggestions for the acceleration of development of economic hotels in Jinan on products and services strategy, marketing strategy and brand and group strategy.
