本文是一篇英语翻译学论文，本文重点选取了笔者为尚律博代表的案例报告所做的口译文本作为案例分析对象，并通过分析翻译策略在口译任务中的运用，来看译员显身性在口译中的体现。通过案例分析，作者发现在联络口译中译员的显身是必要的，而译员的完全隐身难以实现。通过有意运用各种翻译策略，译员有意识的筛选信息并传递讲话者的意思。
1 TASK DESCRIPTION
1.1 Background of the interpreting practice
Since the reform and opening up, more and more foreign-funded enterprises come to Chinato seek for new opportunities for developing business. Guangzhou, the pioneer of reformand opening up, becomes an attractive destination for business investment. However, manyenterprises, including many sports brands, need to handle with the IPR issue and raidagainst counterfeits. Therefore, some companies would turn to local enterprise-managementcompanies to assist them to fight against counterfeits and then follow the judicial procedure.Under such background, some enterprise-management companies would hire interpretersand translators when they need to report to their foreign cooperative partners.
In this interpreting task, the author works for Sunlabor Company and providesinterpreting service for Sunlabor and its client, a sports equipment company. Sunlabor is amanagement and consulting enterprise which provides various service, such as corporationmanagement consultation, legal advice, business survey and so on, to world well-knowncompanies. Sunlabor needs to raid against counterfeits for the sports equipment company inGuangdong Province. Firstly, Sunlabor needs to submit the targeted store, warehouse orsuspects they have found to its clients. After receiving approval from its clients, Sunlaborrepresentatives need to coordinated with the local PSB or local AIC and raid against thetargeted store, warehouse or suspects. In addition, Sunlabor also needs to report to the sportsequipment company about those raiding cases and the latest information such as PSBquestioning, prosecution and court processes. In such case, Sunlabor needs to hiretranslators and interpreters.

1.2 Users of the interpreting service
Users of interpreting service are those who will get in contact with the interpreters. In thiscase, there are two parties engaged in this interpreting task: Sunlabor Company's membersand a representative from the sports equipment company. Sunlabor staff are all Chinese.Some of them know a few English, but not quite good at it while others do not understandEnglish at all. The representative from the sports equipment company comes from theUnited Kingdom, who can neither understand nor speak Chinese. Therefore, thisinterpreting task is of dual directionality: the author should provide English to Chineseinterpreting service and Chinese to English interpreting service in this interpreting task.

2 PRE-TASK PREPARATIONS
2.1 Task planning
The author received the task in May, 2016 when Sunlabor told the author that theinterpreting task would be on 30th, June, 2016, in Guangzhou. Although the author hassome general ideas about Sunlabor and its business with the sports equipment company, sheis still not fully prepared. Besides, it is the first time for the author to be an interpreter.Therefore, the author immediately started to prepare for the interpreting upon receiving thetask.

2.2 Preparing background knowledge
2.2.1 Collecting preparation materials
Because Sunlabor would report raid cases from April, 2016 to July, 2016, it was needed forthe author to have an overall understanding about all the raiding actions in these fourmonths. Therefore, the author asked colleagues for Sunlabor case reports in order to have anoverall knowledge about what Sunlabor would report in the meeting. Sunlabor then sentrelevant reports to interpreter later. Having finished all these reports, the author found thosecase reports can be divided into two categories: AIC cases and PSB cases. Then the authororganized all those documents and divided them into PSB andAIC cases .
