Munro draws on her own life experiences and the perspective of Del,a womangrowing up,to give the reader a detailed account of the fate of the women’s bodies inLives of Girls and Women. As Hooper mentioned,“through her narrator’s eyes theMunro’s‘gender world’is organized”(Hooper 40).The reader is given an insight intothe coexistence and inextricably intertwined nature of the various types of women’sbodies in life. This shows the complex reality of the various women’s bodies thatstruggle with the norms.Only by seeing this reality and starting from it can otherwomen be able to find effective ways to develop autonomously as women.
