5.1 Main Findings

Through the one-semester empirical research,the concrete data of theexperiment prove that the Situational Teaching Method Assisted by Multimedia canbe applied to grammar teaching in high schools,and can promote the efficientclassroom of grammar teaching in high schools.It can not only stimulate students’interest and initiative of independent learning,but also improve students’academicgrades.Compared with the traditional grammar teaching,the Situational TeachingMethod Assisted by Multimedia has shown its advantages in the grammar teachingclassroom of senior high schools:

Firstly,through the results of the pre-questionnaire and post-questionnaire,itcan be seen that it improves students’interest in learning grammar.In theTraditional Grammar Teaching class,students carefully listen to teacher’s directlyexplaining the meaning and structure of grammar,and then carry out mechanicalgrammar exercises.The cramming teaching neglects the active participation ofstudents,separates from the reality of students’life,and the learning effect andlearning interest are not good enough.Under the guidance of Constructive LearningTheory and The Situated Cognition Theory,the Situational Teaching MethodAssisted by Multimedia is used to teach grammar.Teachers choose differentmaterials according to the actual situation to create different scenes,and make fulluse of audio-visual and other vivid life scenes into the classroom.Students can payattention to the characteristics and forms of grammar items in the actual situationcreated by the teacher,and explore specific situations in group cooperation tounderstand the significance of the grammar items to be learned.This activity leaves enough space for students to experience.Students can experience,discover andsummarize grammar rules independently in specific situational activities,andfurther master target grammar knowledge and internalize grammar knowledge insituational output activities.In addition,the whole class can be organized withscenario-based activities,and the enthusiasm and participation of students are veryhigh,which improves the self-confidence and interest of students.
