I am now an undergraduate in University of Shanghai. My major is Chinese Language and Literature and I will be awarded with a bachelor’s degree in July 2009. Now I would like to apply for a place in Master in communication management in the University of ------.
Communication management is the field to which I find myself intensely attracted. To my knowledge, communication management in the coming decade will still play very important role in transition to globalization of communication environment. During times of transition, more and more people are involved in creating new patterns in communication management. These new patterns means dramatic changes taken place in communication management methods. All of these changes require people who would like to enter communication management career in the next decade possessing specialized techniques and practices on the leading edge of change. After checking the online prospectus, I get to know that the well-respected Master in communication management program offered at the University of -------------can equip students with current and emerging theories that inform or comment upon the practices of communication management, and enable them to deal with the demands of complex and rapidly changing communication contexts. As far as I am concerned, this program is exactly tailored for me at postgraduate level. I hope that through participating in this program, I could further develop professional skills like the capacity to analyze, design and evaluate a public relation strategy and campaign, an understanding of the nature of communication and communication management. When I acquire a sound basis for communication management in the University of ----------, I would be able to combine theoretical understanding in communication with communication management practices, and plan, implement, and evaluate specific communication management cases. In the meantime, I am planning to design and plan competitive communication management strategies to handle the public relationship for overseas firms operated in China. I believe that the educational experience in ------will help me to see the communication management environment in ways I have not seen them before, and pave my way to fulfill my career goal.
Now international businesses operated in China are facing many great challenges in communication management. Although after China’s entry into WTO, it has attracted massive amount of international business and trade, a lot of problems related to communication practices are arising in China’s environment, such as problems in dealing with cross cultural communication, public relationship. In order to make more competitive communication management strategies in China’s business environment, now international firms in China are requiring large numbers of personnel with professional communication management techniques and skills to join in their communication management departments. These techniques and skills required can help these businesses to take proper measures to handle with the complicated public relation problems in China circumstance, identify what factors will influence their communication in China environment and management decision making. With great attention drawn upon communication management personnel by international firms in China, I am quite confident that I have made up a very wise career plan, and the program of Master in communication management offered at your honored university would definitely support me to be involved in relevant communication management professions by sound academic basis and advanced techniques and skills in communication management.
