rights, which is a sign of improvement. Modernization is strongly needed in India. Traditional opinions on the female should alter as soon as possible.

Q 3: what does the film suggest about the impact of modernization on cultural norms and practices?
The modernization of a country or a nation has a significant impact on its cultural norms and practices. In the film, the girls in Ruhi Singh are taught to be house keeper, to do chores, to product babies and raise the whole families, and that is to say, women are born and supposed to be traditional. While the other training camp Prachi Trivedi insists that women can stand out and fight for the whole nations.  For women in Ruhi Singh, fighting for freedom is never a group mission and they will never have the conceptions of it. They believe that by owning beauty, liberty will one day finally come. On the contrary, the girls in Prachi Trivedi have no interests on what Ruhi Singh wants. Prachi Trivedi leads one of the largest militant fundamentalist movements, fighting against Islam, Christianity and the Western culture. The group fights for the whole Indian people and especially Indian females. The camp has a great influence in India and makes a difference for the whole India. It is easily recognized that the girls in Ruhi Singh are living a girlish life while Prachi Trivedi really hates being so. Ruhi Singh wants to be ordinary all her life while Prachi Trivedi is always ready to die for her fighting. What the Prachi Trivedi has done are strongly opposited by traditional Indian people. The World before Her creates a lively, provocative portrait of the world’s largest democracy at a critical transitional moment. It creates an equally compelling portrait of two women who hope to shape that country’s future. In India the female has a low social status and women suffer a lot. This film suggests that the modernization has a great impact on traditional norms and practices, female are rising up and they will no longer play traditional social roles, they can also stand up and step forward to make a difference. Indian women are uniting together to fight for themselves and the whole female. In conclusion, women in Indian are not equally treated and women are supposed to challenge traditions and to make it improved. It is a tough battle and they can not fear.
