This new type of bottle stoppers brings huge threat to traditional corks. Nowadays, choosing a better bottle stopper to save the wine becomes a hot topic in the wine industry. This final individual assignment of contemporary management issues mainly focus on different stance between producers and consumers. The author uses related theories to compare and analyse the use of metal screw tops and traditional corks’ advantages and disadvantages. Finally, according to the consumers’ important role in the supply chain, the author will support and agree to the use of traditional cork.

Background 背景
软木橡树占地约270万公顷。使用它的国家有葡萄牙、西班牙、阿尔及利亚、摩洛哥、意大利、突尼斯和法国。传统软木不仅是100000人的重要资金来源，而且可以保护许多野生动物和珍贵动物，创造一个和谐的环境。Cork也被称为木栓形成层。传统的软木是由软木橡树的树皮。 每年有1500亿个瓶塞将被使用（“WWF报告”，2006：2-3）。Cork oak covers approximately 2.7 million hectare. It includes seven countries which are Portugal, Spain, Algeria, Morocco, Italy, Tunisia and France. Traditional cork is not only an important source of finance for 100,000 people, but also protecting of many wild and valuable animals, and creating a harmonious environment. Cork is also known as cork cambium. Traditional cork is made of cork oak’s bark. Every year there is 150 billion bottle stoppers will be used (A WWF Report, 2006: 2-3).

Based on the above description and analysis of these four parts, the author thinks traditional cork will need to development. Although metal screw tops bring some benefits for people, at same time bring damage to environment. Traditional cork is not only a sustainable product, but also protect environment.
