Subjunctive sentences in literary works are not simple sentences, but value and humanistic thought. It expresses a writer’s value, and even some thought of some certain ages. They are different from those used in non-literary works. In addition, the studies like these are quite rare. And there are few studies on application of subjunctive mood in literary works which consist of novels, dramas, films and television works, so, the studies on its meaning construction of subjunctive mood in literary works are even fewer. As a kind of grammar phenomena, subjunctive mood plays its important roles not only in syntax structure, but in textual level. Therefore, it is necessary for linguists and English researchers to study the meaning construction of subjunctive mood and find out the special features which are different from non-literary works.

1.2 Objectives and Significances of the Study
Subjunctive mood has been quite controversial, and English subjunctive as an important grammatical category, is one of the difficulties for the majority of English learners. The connotation behind the phenomenon for language learners is poorly understood. How to combine form and meaning, and find their inner link are mostly studied through the interpretation of the grammatical form of cognitive meaning to understand the nature of subjunctive mood. Exploring cognition of subjunctive mood gradually attracts many scholars’ interest. Some scholars even doubt the existence of subjunctive mood, but the author thinks that the subjunctive has its meaning, and it will not disappear as some scholars say. Therefore, the author believes that the study of subjunctive mood is necessary.
