1.0 Introduction
香港从上世纪50年代至70年代建成了一批大型水库，但由于人口激增，水库仍不足以满足需求。之后，香港建成的船湾淡水湖，容量是雄心勃勃的，但它仍然无法满足不断增长的对淡水的需求。因此，万宜水库建设项目开始（香港地质公园/渔护署，2011）。1969，政府开始草拟兴建水库的计划，并于1971正式启用。七年后，它完全是在1978年11月底。高岛水库位于西贡，香港，万宜水库由东、西大坝坝。通过对东大坝和西大坝的建立，它关闭了当地的观音门通道，然后把水倒入海水和淡水形成的淡水湖（香港公园/渔护署，2011）。香港，万宜水库不仅是一个水库，它的地质研究具有重要意义，旅游，香港地区居民休闲教育。本文从地质、旅游、休闲、教育三个方面介绍了万宜水库的特点。Hong Kong built a number of large reservoirs from 1950s to 1970s, but due to population boom, the reservoirs were still inadequate to meet the need. After that, Hong Kong built Plover Cove Reservoir, the capacity was ambitious, but it still failed to meet the growing demand for fresh water. Therefore the project of construction of High Island Reservoir began (Hong Kong Geopark / AFCD, 2011). In 1969, the government began drafting plans to build the reservoir and officially started in 1971. Seven years later, it was completely by the end of November 1978. High Island Reservoir is located in Sai Kung, Hong Kong, High Island Reservoir is composed of East Dam and West Dam. Through the establishment of East Dam and West Dam, it closed the local Kwun Mun Channel, and then drew out seawater water and poured into fresh water to form a freshwater lake (Hong Kong Geopark / AFCD, 2011). For Hong Kong, High Island Reservoir is not just a reservoir, it has important significance for geological research, tourism, leisure and education of residents in Hong Kong. This essay is from three aspects: geology, tourism, leisure and education to introduce the characteristics of High Island Reservoir.
