英语口译paper帮写abstract In interpretation, the knowledge and cognitive ability of an interpreter is of high importance to the interpreting activity. Those qualities impact the listening comprehension, short memory and language production and enhance the interpreter’s initiative in interpreting. knowledge and cognitive ability of an interpreter are rich in contents including interpreter’s schema, namely the background knowledge and inferences in accordance of the background knowledge, which is indispensible for a successful interpreting activity. Schema is a knowledge system arranging in order on which people depend to get to know the world. Generally, schema can be categorized in to three aspects: language schema, content schema and structure schema. This paper examines the impact of schema on consecutive interpretation. There are four effort models within Gile’s theory framework, namely, listening and comprehension, noting, short memory and coordination of those efforts. Within Gile’s multi-effort model, this paper examines the impact of schema on information reorganization including the listening comprehension and short memory which is closely related to has impact on language production. By this study, interpreters can find guidance in practice and the improvement of their skill. Key words: interpretation schema consecutive interpretation
Introduction
1. Need for the study
Consecutive interpretation has been approached from various perspectives by scholars and experts who want to tap the secrets of interpretation in depth. There are a great deal of means can be employed to having eyes on consecutive of interpretation, such as Adaptation Theory, Relevance Theory , schema theory, etc. The most prevailing ones are Relevance Theory, schema theory which can be categorized into theory of cognition. A great deal of research has been developed to cast light on consecutive interpretation, mainly on its process of cognition, with the employment of Relevance Theory. Schema is a newly introduced instrument used for the analysis of interpretation process, which has been widely employed in teaching and the learning of second language. To name some, they are teaching of listening skill, teaching of writing and oral English as well as reading comprehension. Some scholars have approached Schema Theory with its impact on the anticipation and the deal with redundancy in simultaneous interpretation with most of the studies focusing on simultaneous interpretation. Some experts also have dealt with the impact of Schema on interpretation on the whole. However, few of the previous researchers have got their hands on the analysis of the impact of Schema on the information reorganization in consecutive interpretation. Within the framework of Gile’s effort model, information reorganization exist mainly in two efforts, namely, listening and short memory which is closely related to language production. Although a limited number of scholars have committed efforts to the study of the impacts of schema on listening comprehension, few of them have analyzed this impact with case analysis, and the impact on listening and short memory as a whole. Therefore there is the need to conduct a research in this front with case studies.
2.Purpose of the study
The purpose of this study is to study the impact of Schema on the information reorganization in consecutive interpretation and find out to what extent schema will impact the listening and language production in consecutive interpretation.
2. Organization of the study
This paper consists of three parts, introduction, body and conclusion among which six chapters can be located in the body of the paper. The first part is the introduction of the need and purpose and the organization of the study; the second part is the main body of this paper; the third part is the conclusion of the paper in which the limitations for this p
