a unique characteristic: it comprises narratives of Chinese women collected through interviews by an American and documented as an English autobiography. Since there is no original source text available for back-translation, the translation should strive to resemble an authentic Chinese story as much as possible, minimizing any foreign language traces introduced by the English translation. 

Chinese translators handling Chinese stories can effectively capture the imagery and concepts intended by the author, Ida, thus minimizing the time spent searching for references. However, the initial translation by a foreigner presents challenges in restoring historical and contextual details accurately. This is where the significance of employing the textless back translation becomes evident.

Scholars such as Professor Wang Hongyin have provided theoretical guidance for translating Chinese materials in the absence of source texts, establishing standards for approximation. In this report, the translator focusses primarily on addressing translation issues arising from both lexical and syntactical perspectives encountered during the translation process of this work.
