Implicit Negation in English

Implicit Negation in English 【Abstract】 Negation can be realized not only by employing negative words in the sentence but also can be reached by using a positive form, which is called implicit negation. This kind of implicit negation can achieve its effects of implication, euphemism, and humor in the discourse, or of strengthening the intended tone. Attention should be paid to the implied meaning of the implicit negation. 【Key words】 negation function understanding translation
