Investigation of CNC Turing centre performance using statistical analysis
Abstract
Six-Sigma (6 ) is a business-driven, multi-faceted approach to process improvement, reduced costs, and increased profits. With a fundamental principle to improve customer satisfaction by reducing defects, its ultimate performance target is virtually defect-free processes and products.
Few turning center users perform Ball-Bar work on an exclusive basis. Instead, most have more general applications that fall into all three turning application categories: chucking work, shaft work, and bar work. For this reason, most "off-the-shelf" universal turning centers are designed to be quite flexible - and as such they incorporate a three-jaw chuck for work holding and have a tailstock to support long work pieces.
This Paper mainly analyzes the ball-bar system through Six-Sigma method. There are five sections in this paper.
The first section is Six-Sigma Overview. This section includes five parts: about Six-Sigma, definition of Six-Sigma, design for Six-Sigma, usage of Six-Sigma, technical detail.
The second section is CNC Turing Center Overview. This section includes two parts: basal description and example of CNC Turing center.
The third section is Ball-Bar System for CNC Turning Centers. This section includes two parts: working style and the advantage of Ball-Bar systems.
The forth section is investigation the ball-bar systems performance use six-sigma. This section includes five parts. It is Six-Sigma origination, Six-Sigma process, material implement, essential improvement themes and success with Six-Sigma sustained effort.
The fifth section is example and exceptive question. This section includes five parts: aims, abstract, planning a test and equipment used, exceptive question and conclusion of this section.
The conclusion of this paper was given in the last.
